Since I started writing, I knew it was never going to be just about books. Sure, they're the core of who I am, but there is so much more to me. So I had always planned to try to diversify my offering as an author. I've tried a few things by now, and while it hasn't worked out, I have no regrets, because for me, that's part of the experience.
Never did I ever think I would end up hosting my own podcast though.
Towards the end of 2024, I started listening to more podcasts in the fantasy book space, and while they're incredible (some of these fan theories for popular books are so good!), I felt there was something lacking for me as the reader and listener. I crave authenticity in my life, and none of these discussions I was coming across were relatable for me. Like with the author part of my life, if you can't find what you're looking for, create it, right?
Enter The Fantasy Grimoire Podcast.
The idea is simple. We're going to chat about Fantasy books, but we're also going to chat about the parts of our lives that influence fantasy books. For example, some guests have had chronic illness that influences the way they write, or some guests have dual heritage that has helped shape the kind of writer they've become. The list is honestly endless.
Additionally, I'm not just limited the podcast to authors. I'm also including influencers, book coaches, editors, unpublished authors and anyone else I can find that meets this criteria. It takes a village to create a fantasy book, and I want this podcast to reflect that.
When I first started working on this idea, I had planned to publish an episode once a month as I thought that was all I could handle. Turns out, I always under estimate myself, and now I'm at releasing a new episode every 2 weeks. I also have a full season booked already, because it turns out that a lot of people are relating to the idea of this podcast. After the first episode was received really well, I can't wait to see where I end up with this one.
